The world is trembling again—
nations roaring,
the vulnerable pushed to the margins,
the powerful forgetting their neighbors.
And still, a Galilean voice
keeps calling us by name.
Blessed are the poor in spirit,
He says,
in a world that worships strength.
Blessed are the peacemakers,
He says,
while missiles trace fire across the night.
Blessed are the ones who hunger
for a justice they have not yet seen,
who refuse to let despair
become their daily bread.
For such a time as this,
we remember the One
who walked straight into the world’s violence
and answered it with healing.
Who met corruption with truth,
and met sinners with mercy,
and met death with a love
that would not stay buried.
For such a time as this,
we turn again to the Way—
the narrow road of compassion,
the table where enemies sit down as guests,
the kingdom that grows like a seed
in the soil of ordinary lives.
The world is trembling,
but so is the tomb—
stone loosening,
light gathering,
hope rising in the dark.
And Christ still whispers to us,
as He did to frightened disciples
on another troubled day:
Do not be afraid.
Follow Me.
Love one another.
This is how the world will change.
For such a time as this,
we dare to believe Him.
We dare to live like it’s true.
