About

I’m Sue—a pastor, a co‑response mental health specialist, and someone who’s spent enough time in sanctuaries and crisis scenes to know that perfection is a myth and honesty is a lifeline. People don’t need a flawless leader; they need someone who will tell the truth, hold space, and crack a well‑timed joke when the air gets too heavy.

I’m also “newly” married—almost three years in, and yes, I’m still claiming it. When you finally find a partner who refuses to let you shrink, you don’t rush past the newness. He’s the one saying, “Shine,” when I’m tempted to fade into the background.

Between us, we have six adult children—three biological, three bonus—each carving their own path in the world. They keep us grounded, humbled, and learning, and they stretch my understanding of love in all the best ways.

Sacred Truth, Human Mess is where all my worlds meet: ministry, mental health work, blended‑family wisdom, hard‑earned clarity, and the humor that keeps me steady. This is a space for honest, hopeful reflections with a little snark around the edges—a place where we tell the truth about being human and trust that hope can hold us through it.

Pull up a chair. You’re in good company here.
